The public space of Roncal/Erronkari mostly occupied by cars, leaving the rest of the activities in the background: the neighborhood meeting, the perception of the urban scene, the vision of the buildings, the resting… The project tries to recover the public space for pedestrians, defining which spaces can to be used for parking by the residents who need it and by part of the people who come to visit Roncal/Erronkari.
After a participation process, the objective is to recover the space of the central square of the urban area, Portazabalea, regulating parking in the square and surrounding streets and road access for loading and unloading of people and objects. A nearby parking space for residents is conditioned and the square is equipped with new elements of urban furniture such as benches and planters.
