For the drafting of the preliminary cycling infrastructure project, a study of capacity and traffic matrices in the area was carried out, as well as a microsimulation of the proposed alternatives.
After the studies and the assessment of different factors, a layout in three phases is proposed:
- Phase 1 Vuelta del Castillo. Layout of the cycling infrastructure behind the bus station. This phase is later developed into a constructive project.
- Phase 2 Plaza de los Fueros. Elimination of a traffic lane to locate the infrastructure on the road, separated from traffic by a green reservation.
- Phase 3 Widening Connection. Surface connection through the green area of the Plaza de los Fueros to Avenida de Galicia, with two new pedestrian and cyclist crossings with traffic lights.
