IMPROVEMENT OF NON-MOTORIZED MOBILITY IN ESTELLA-LIZARRA

Based on a diagnosis of the current state of mobility in Estella-Lizarra, a proposal for actions is made to improve non-motorized mobility in different areas: supra-municipal mobility, pacified environments and areas, pedestrian network, cycling network, parking.

Some of the proposals are developed within the project, such as the redevelopment of Paseo de la Inmaculada and Gustavo de Maeztu street.

The transformation of the Inmaculada into a hub of activity with pedestrian priority and cycling infrastructure requires a comprehensive intervention. A first intermediate phase is proposed with “tactical” actions while waiting for a scenario in which the traffic on the crossing is reduced.

Another of the detailed actions is an audit of pedestrian crossings in the Historic Center-Casco and Sector B. As a result, actions to improve the visibility and accessibility of the crossings are proposed.

Finally, the walkability of the Centro-Casco Histórico area is analyzed with Walkability City Tool in order to know the characteristics of sidewalks and crosswalks in the area to propose improvements based on measurable and comparable data.
